Dear Friends and
Colleagues,
It is with great
pleasure that I welcome you to the 2026 Congress of the
Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), organized
in conjunction with the 37th Hong Kong
Ophthalmological Symposium at the Hong Kong Convention
and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong, China, from February
5 to 8, 2026.
Featuring over 1,000
internationally acclaimed speakers whose pioneering
research spans a broad spectrum of topics, this year’s
congress will present groundbreaking discoveries and
advancements across 19 ophthalmic subspecialties. It is
set to draw an attendance of more than 6,000
ophthalmologists from all over the Asia-Pacific region
and worldwide, promising a dynamic platform to exchange
the latest professional knowledge and skills in our
field.
Putting together a
conference of this scale is no mean feat. On behalf of
APAO and our Member Societies, I would like to extend
our deepest heartfelt thanks to APAO 2026 Congress
President Prof. Jason YAM, along with our devoted
colleagues at the
Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society
(HKOS) and the
College of Ophthalmologists of
Hong Kong (COHK), for their meticulous
planning and steadfast commitment to delivering an
outstanding event. We are also immensely indebted to
APAO 2026 Scientific Program Committee (SPC) Chair Prof.
Dennis LAM, as well as all our SPC members, whose
expertise and dedication are indispensable to the design
of such a thought-provoking academic program.
In addition to
facilitating scientific discussions, the APAO Congress
serves as a cultural melting pot.
We strongly encourage
you to join all the wonderful social events throughout
the congress,
where
you can engage with like-minded colleagues, catch up
with old friends, and
explore opportunities for new friendships and future
professional collaborations.
We look forward to
welcoming you to this pinnacle gathering in Hong Kong!
Warmest personal
regards,
Clement C THAM
