Welcome Message from
APAO 2026 Scientific Program Committee Chair

  Issue 4 - August 2025

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) of the 41st Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, I am delighted to welcome you to the intellectually stimulating journey offered by one of the most significant ophthalmic meetings in the world.

During the four-day program from February 5 to 8, 2026, you will delve into the latest discoveries and innovations in eye health by taking part in your chosen scientific sessions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Whether you are focused on basic research or seeking to enhance your clinical skills, and regardless of your subspecialty or years of experience, I am sure you will take home a thicket of inspirations from the wide range of lectures, symposiums, workshops, and wet lab courses we offer.

On a personal note, this is my third consecutive year working as the SPC Chair for the annual APAO Congress. While I feel both privileged and humbled to serve again, I must express how impressed I have been by the quality of presentations delivered by our distinguished invited faculty as well as authors of submitted abstracts. Year after year, our colleagues work relentlessly to bridge knowledge gaps in ophthalmic science, improve existing treatments and develop new ones, and harness technological advancements to better address patients’ needs.  I eagerly anticipate learning from yet another batch of robust research from you at the 2026 congress.

We sincerely hope you take full advantage of this invaluable opportunity and make lasting contributions to eye care. Thank you for joining us at this extraordinary event, and let’s enjoy this fulfilling experience in Hong Kong together!

Best regards,

Dennis LAM
Chair
